Corrections policy
We fix errors quickly, transparently and on the record — because trust is earned in the corrections column, not the press release.
Accuracy is non-negotiable. When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly, transparently and without obscuring the original error.
How to request a correction
- Email corrections@districtdoor.com with the story URL and the specific passage in question.
- Include supporting documents or on-the-record sources when available.
- Our standards desk acknowledges receipt within one business day and publishes a ruling as quickly as verification allows.
How we label fixes
- Correction — fixes a factual error material to the story.
- Clarification — adds context without changing the core facts.
- Update — adds new developments after initial publication.
- Retraction — removes a story that should not have been published; rare and always explained.
On-page display
Material corrections appear at the top of the affected story with a timestamp and a brief description of what changed. We do not silently rewrite headlines, datelines or body copy without a correction note.
